Five for Friday: What Happened to Summer?!?!

I'm back linking up again with Kelsey at Doodle Bugs Teaching.  I can't believe summer is almost over y'all!! What have I been up to this past week??? Well, here's another...

After seeing all of the cute designs for the Heidi Swapp Lightbox, I had to get myself one! I can't wait to come up with so many cute designs to show off in my classroom! I was hoping to have a picture of something I made, but my printer is out of ink (more on that in a bit)! Here's something I created for my son's 11th birthday that is coming up on August 3rd.
I'm not sure how it's going to look in the lightbox, yet. He loves chickens, so I think he'll LOVE it!
So, remember when I said that my printer ran out of ink. Well, that's a GOOD thing; actually, it's a GREAT thing. As I was trying to print out my new TpT resource (more on that in a bit) to see how it looked, our printer decided to stop printing properly (LONG story). I had told my husband a while back that I wanted an HP Instant Ink capable printer. Well, he decided to surprise me with one!! He's the best! It was on sale at Target.
So far, I LOVE it! I signed up for HP Instant Ink and got 3 months free with the printer. I absolutely LOVE that I can print 300 pages for only $10 a month... SO much cheaper than buying ink cartridges. AND... they ship ink cartridges before you need ink. GENIUS!!! But apparently, I should've waited a few days to start printing, because I ran out of ink by day 3. I knew that the cartridges that came with the printer were small, I just didn't know how small they were. Anyway, my 'Welcome Kit' should be here on Monday with new ink cartridges. If you're interested in HP Instant Ink, you can use my referral code to get an extra month free: Try HP Instant Ink
This week I also finished up my 1st editable product for TpT...a sub binder... YAY!!! It seems like it took me FOREVER to complete this resource! I'm just glad I'm finished. I wanted to do an entire blog post about it, but my fancy printer is waiting for some ink. For now, I'll have to settle with a less than impressive picture!

I am so HAPPY to be able to have something super easy to put together for when I need a sub! If you're interested in my editable sub binder, click on the picture! I KNOW it's gonna make my life easier!
You might remember me talking about TrafficWonker on my last Five for Friday. Well, I decided to switch to Tailwind the next day! LOL! The first day that my pins were set to be pinned, only 1/2 of them were actually pinned! WHAT?!?!?! I spent so much time curating pins and creating beautiful long pins for my products, and only 1/2 of what was scheduled actually went to Pinterest!!! That's a problem! From what I have been told, TrafficWonker is going through some growing pains, and it should be resolved soon! I'm not trying to sway you one way or another, but in my opinion, Tailwind is the WHOLE package! I figured I would give Tailwind a go to see if I liked it, and BOY was I hooked. I LOVE Tailwind! If you would like to give Tailwind a try, here's my referral code to get a month FREE: Try Tailwind.
In fact, I watched one of their FB Live videos where Kevin (he presented at the TpT Conference on Tailwind's behalf) discussed TpT and Tailwind.
As I was saying, I also caught the FB Live video with Kevin and Madison (from Tailwind). They talked about the size of pins (7 1/2 x 12 is best) as well as gave some great tips about Tailwind and TpT. It was amazing! Here's a link to the FB Live video: Tailwind and TpT FB Live Video.  Also, if you missed the TpT Conference in Orlando, Kevin put together a webinar (it was taped, not live) that highlighted some of the more important points of his session at the conference. It was super informative and I took LOTS of notes. One thing that I really loved was he shared a Google Docs form with the TpT sellers who watch the webinar. Included in that is a 30% Tailwind discount (must be used by July 31). At that point, I went straight to the Tailwind website and signed up for a GIGANTIC discount!! If you watch the FB Live video, there is a link in the comments to the TpT Toolbox (Google Docs links). Kevin also talked about using Canva to make pins. I have always used PowerPoint, BUT he made some good points about how easy and flexible Canva is. PLUS... there is a Canva Design School!!!! YES....I am so excited to start working through the courses they offer!
Now, IF we only had more vacation time!!!!! Take care, friends!!

  1. Ooh! I'm new to Tailwind, too - isn't it amazing?! I'm still in my free trial month, but I'd love to know more about that 30% discount. I watched a webinar but missed the google doc - perhaps it was the wrong webinar?! Would you be able to post (or email me) a link to it? I'm really wishing I had attended his session in Orlando. :(

TIA for any help you can give me!

    1. Hi, Paula! My blog and brand were designed by Jolene Ray from Paisley N' Polkadots. She is super reasonably priced because she just recently started as a blog designer! She's been a TpT seller for a while now but just recently started designing blogs. Here's her blog designing website: http://paisleynpolkadotsdesigns.blogspot.com/. Give her a try... she's wonderful to work with!!

    1. I'm almost finished with the Canva Design School, and it's wonderful!! Check it out! Personally, I have only designed one pin for Pinterest with Canva. I'm not sure how much I like it compared to PowerPoint! I think that in order to have more flexibility with Canva, you have to pay for the premium account, which is $10 a month. Maybe I'll like it more over time! Good luck!

  4. Thanks for the info on Tailwind. I'm currently doing the free month trial and like it so far, but have to decide if it's worth the money! Good to hear your feedback on it!

    1. Jordan, I don't know what I would do without Tailwind! I have hardly been on Pinterest because I've just been scheduling pins ahead of time! With school getting back into full swing, I really need to find a good balance between my family life, teaching, and TpT! If you know any secrets, I would love to hear!!! :)

  5. I am impressed, so I ought to state. Rarely do I experience a weblog That is the two educative and enjoyable, and allows me to let you know personally, you've hit the nail on the mind. Your idea is outstanding that the matter is something which not sufficient men and women are talking logically about. I'm pleased that I stumbled upon this in my hunt for something about the particular. hp deskjet 3630 not printing
